The MBA Entrepreneurship will provide students with advanced knowledge of strategic management practices, entrepreneurship and leadership along with the skills to manage and lead change.
The programme takes place within an interactive learning environment to support and enhance professional insights and build a network of academics, business professionals, fellow students, professional bodies and alumni. Students will develop both the knowledge and skills required to accelerate their career. High quality teaching combined with practical learning ensures that students are able to apply this new knowledge. The programme delivers learning through a variety of methods from workshops, coaching sessions, masterclasses and company visits.
We have also successfully accredited our London Bloomsbury and online MBA Entrepreneurship with a professionally recognised CMI qualification. Those graduating via either of these routes will therefore also receive the CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership.
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This course has been developed for professionals from any discipline who are looking to advance in their current role or enhance their career to progress into senior management and leadership roles.
The MBA Entrepreneurship specialism is also suitable for those seeking to start their own venture, pursue careers in start-ups or corporate organizations with a culture of innovation.
You’ll graduate from this programme with a solid understanding of management and entrepreneurship and ready to succeed in leadership roles.
COURSE CONTENT & STRUCTURE
Full time students will study for one year. Part-time students will study for two years.
The course starts with the Starter Bootcamp. During this week students will hone their transferable skills of developing networks, teamwork, knowledge management and cultural management. Key academic skills will also be developed such as referencing, other anti-plagiarism activities, research and presentation skills.
Our coaching philosophy will be introduced where you’ll develop coaching skills and learn how to utilise coaching feedback.
The independent student led project will also be introduced.
The week will conclude with individual student presentations outlining the knowledge you’ve acquired during the Starter Bootcamp.
International Residential Trip
The International Residential Trip is optional and serves to strengthen the international dimension of the programme with access to global partners and businesses. The cost of this will be approximately £1,500 to be paid for by students. The week-long trip focuses on applying and evaluating the theory gained on the course through a live case study. Students will develop their strategic management, analytical and consulting skills. This will also be an opportunity to meet other MBA students from other campuses and partner institutions.
Online and on campus students not wishing to undertake the International Residential Trip will undertake company visits through engagement with online companies. Online students will also have the option of attending physical residential and company visits if desired. Key aspects of physical residential and company visits will also be shared with online students via webinars and videos.

There are two elective modules to choose from, of which you’ll need to pick one:

GLOBAL BUSINESS STRATEGY AND LEADERSHIP
This module will teach you about global corporate strategy and leadership, increasing your confidence in planning and executing strategic changes, taking ethical factors into account. You will also become equipped with a critical understanding of the relevant concepts, theories and frameworks that will enable you to develop your competence in leadership and strategic decision making. This module focuses on the positioning of and solutions for improving competitive strategy in a global context.
LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT
This module will enable you to critically evaluate core theories, models and concepts of leadership. In addition you will learn the best practices and skills used in a professional environment, focusing on how to become an effective human resource practitioner using practical leadership skills. You will develop an understanding of how competitive advantage for organisations can be gained through developing people in practice; performance management; managing talent; change management and the role of HR analytics in supporting development and performance management.
BUSINESS OPERATIONS AND PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
This module will develop your understanding of operations and performance management. You will be able to critically evaluate the effects of the growing influence of a global economy and its effect on performance and operations management of multinational companies. You will learn how to analyse the principles and trends in performance measurement and control. You will develop an understanding of how the operations and IT functions contribute to an organisation’s competitiveness, strategic direction and change management.
RESEARCH METHODS, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND DISSERTATION/PROJECT
Here, you will critically evaluate a business issue of your choice. The module will equip you with the methods, techniques and skills of research to enable you to identify a complex business issue within a professional environment. You will then have the opportunity to plan, execute and analyse the research results in order to document your work. Students have the choice to work on a research dissertation or practice focused project which could include documentary. This project demands rigorous research, analysis and academic interpretation to maximise knowledge in the relevant field.
You will select one of the following two elective modules:
ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION
This module will enable you to develop a critical understanding of the opportunities and challenges established companies and start-ups face concerning entrepreneurship and innovation. You will be able to evaluate the strategic issues facing small enterprises at the various stages in their life cycle, from start-up through growth and into decline. You will be able to evaluate entrepreneurship and the role of the entrepreneur in business success and failure. You will develop your knowledge of business planning along with and be aware of the information and financial support available to small enterprises.
TRANSFORMATIONAL CHANGE AND BUSINESS GROWTH
This module will focus on business renewal and transformational change while exploring growth strategies. You will be able to critically evaluate the role of sustainability and effects of business growth. You will analyse trends in technology, big data and innovation and how these contribute competitive advantage. You will develop a critical appreciation of the drivers for business renewal, growth and transformational change and understand how leaders manage change. You will be able to critically evaluate the impact of leadership, partnerships and culture on global entrepreneurship.

HOW WILL YOU LEARN
The programme is delivered in an interactive way with a real-world focus, preparing you for the dynamic business environment you will face after you graduate. Learning takes places both in and outside the classroom environment, traditional lectures and workshops are combined with a wealth of online resources to ensure that you get the most out of the programme. Face-to-face learning is supported by online resources, including the Financial Times, case studies, simulations, learning videos, reading materials, online testing and feedback.
In addition, you’ll attend a Masterclass towards the end of each module to consolidate your learning. This will be delivered by an external speaker with expertise in the subject area also providing networking opportunities.
Each student will receive a series of coaching sessions throughout the programme with their personal tutor who are qualified coaches. Each session will provide an opportunity for reflection on knowledge gained enabling you to integrate this with past experience and apply it to new situations, ensuring your potential is maximised.
The assessments are designed to meet the learning outcomes both academically and professionally. Progress on the course will be assessed in a variety of methods such as coursework, exams, group presentations, debates, learning journals and portfolios, individual oral assessment, and research dissertation. Throughout the course students will undertake various work tasks and will be provided feedback upon their work to understand how they are performing. These assessments will mainly take place through seminars, tutorials, group activities, self-reflection, diagnostic testing and oral presentations.

Students will receive their core textbooks free of charge. All programmes are supported by our Virtual Learning Environment, Elite. Elite will be your first point of call for academic information. There will be two tasks to complete each week, and you should allow for 15-30 hours of study per week. The course also includes a Starter Bootcamp, and online Residential, Masterclasses and Coaching Sessions.
All of your learning will take place on the Canvas platform, delivered by our online learning partner, InterActive Pro. Each unit you study consists of an introduction, video clips, extended reading, discussion questions, as well as a summary and consolidation.
