Chartered Management Institute (CMI)

Many of The University of Law Business School’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are accredited by the prestigious Chartered Management Institute (CMI). The CMI is the UK’s only chartered professional body offering the highly coveted Chartered Manager (CMgr) status. With its origins dating back to 1945, the CMI community is made up of over 100,000 members.

The CMI is dedicated to providing services to employers, education providers, and individuals to streamline management development and maximise employability in the UK and worldwide.

CMI mentoring services

The online CMI mentoring community is made up of over 120,000 members. Mentors are matched with mentees according to the skills, experience and industry of your interest. After creating an online profile you will write a proposal for a potential mentor to accept. Once you have established a relationship with your mentor, you will benefit from new business skills, improved self-confidence, and insider knowledge of what today’s employers demand. Your mentor will be provided with a resource pack to ensure you are progressing towards your shared objectives throughout the duration of your mentorship.

How to become a Chartered Manager

This exclusive managerial status is available to CMI members who elect to take the experiential, qualified, or exemption route. Each route is designed to accommodate all working professionals, based on their qualification and experience level. You will be asked to complete an assessment in order to be considered for Chartered Manager status. If you successfully complete a bachelor’s or master’s degree with The University of Law Business School, you will have met the qualification requirements for consideration.
