Who is this course for?
This degree is ideal for those interested in securing a career in business and management in an industry of their choice, and is especially relevant for those with an interest in the roles of manager, consultant, analyst and entrepreneur.
Course Content & Structure
On-campus and online full-time students will study for one year, which is divided into two semesters and the summer period for the dissertation. Students will study three modules, each worth 30 credits; two modules, each worth 15 credits; and another module worth 60 credits, totalling 180 credits.
The course will cover the following core modules:
- Global Business Strategy and Leadership (30 credits)
- Management of Business Operations (15 credits)
- Performance Management and Reward (15 credits)
- International Marketing Leadership (30 credits)
- Financial Information for Business Decisions (30 credits)
- Research Methods, Professional Development and Dissertation/Project (60 credits)
Global Business Strategy and Leadership
This module will teach you about global corporate strategy and leadership, increasing your confidence in planning and executing strategic changes, taking ethical factors into account. You will also become equipped with a critical understanding of the relevant concepts, theories and frameworks that will enable you to develop your competence in leadership and strategic decision making. This module focuses on the positioning of and solutions for improving competitive strategy in a global context.
Management of Business Operations
This module assesses the applicability of operations management strategies across various cultures and investigates the factors that underpin the application of operations management strategies in an international context. This module also addresses and utilises information technology tools and packages.
Management and Reward
This module equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to examine the design of performance management systems that aim to transform an organisation’s objectives and performance outcomes. The module focuses on effective performance review processes, at team level and individual level. It places importance on the communication skills used in the performance review process and the module also evaluates the need for employee involvement, as well as transparent, ethical and justifiable rewards for performance.
International Marketing Leadership
This module will assist you in developing effective international marketing strategies relating to suit an organisation’s corporate and business strategic intent. The module offers insight into international marketing leadership and planning concepts, and how these are applied to deliver results. In addition, you will be able to build and refine the skills necessary to anticipate and adapt to future international environment changes.
Financial Information for Business Decisions
This module will equip you with sound knowledge in accounting and corporate finance, enabling you to analyse the key decision areas in accounting and corporate finance and evaluate how businesses are financed. This module will provide you with an understanding of the use of financial information for business decision making. In addition, you will be required to evaluate the main financial and business problems facing modern financial managers in a changing economy.
Research Methods, Professional Development and Dissertation/Project
Here, you will critically evaluate a business issue of your choice. The module will equip you with the necessary tools for researching within a professional environment, and provide you with an opportunity to diagnose and investigate a complex business issue.
This degree will be invaluable when it comes to securing a career in business management. Potential roles include consultant, analyst, operational manager and entrepreneur.

How will you learn
The programme is delivered in an interactive way with a real-world focus, preparing you for the dynamic business environment you will face after you graduate. Learning takes places both in and outside the classroom environment, traditional lectures and workshops are combined with a wealth of online resources to ensure that you get the most out of the programme. Face-to-face learning is supported by online resources, including the Financial Times, case studies, simulations, learning videos, reading materials, online testing and feedback. For each 30 credit module, there will be a three hour workshop.
Examination and assessment
Students will be assessed in a number of ways throughout the duration of the programme. Assessment methods include assignments, presentations and examinations.

The assessments are designed to meet the learning outcomes both academically and professionally. This involves seminars, workshops, tests, presentations, assignments, and exams. The programme involves a considerable amount of group work, group assessment and presentations that will take place online. Up to 25% of the assessment takes this form and will count towards your overall grade.
You will be assessed in a variety of formats, including portfolio and instant feedback tasks, self-assessed quizzes. You will also participate in VoiceThread presentations, and questions paired with TED-Ed lessons.
