Location

The Campus is located in the historical town of Egham in the attractive Surrey countryside and only 40 minutes by train to Central London.  By studying at Royal Holloway students can enjoy a good range of shops and places to eat and drink, such as brunch at the quaint Bar 163 or a sunny picnic at Englefield Green. There is also a great range of sporting and leisure activities to get involved with at the local leisure centre.

Well-respected and recognised

Royal Holloway is a well-respected and recognised university with an abundance of history. It has ranked in the top 20 universities in the UK (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, 2020) and the top 300 universities in the world. Furthermore, Royal Holloway’s research also remains within the top 25% of all UK universities for research. With 88% assessed as 4* and 3* in the Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021), there is an opportunity to expand students’ horizons and inspires them to succeed academically, socially and personally.

Graduate employability

Royal Holloway has an excellent employability service for when their students graduate. Career guidance and support is available throughout your studies. Royal Holloway’s Careers and Employability Service is also part of The Careers Group, the largest and most comprehensive careers service in Europe. 91% of Royal Holloway graduates are employed or go on to further study within six months of finishing their course. However, as a University of Law student at this campus, you will also have access to our Employability Service, which offers a huge range of support. Students can take part in employability events and activities to set them up for the world of employment, and our dedicated employability team can help you with gaining work experience and pro bono opportunities to help boost your CV and career.

Diverse community

With almost a third of students from outside the UK, Royal Holloway holds a truly diverse community, in both ethos and impact. With alumni located in 165 countries across the world, the University is made up of a diverse and cosmopolitan community with a strong international spirit.

The campus facilities

The Founders Building is one of the most recognisable campuses across the UK, copying the famous château de Chambord of the Loire valley. However, it isn’t just an attractive lunch spot. Royal Holloway is equipped with the latest technology and has a range of facilities to assist with your studies. The modern library in the Emily Wilding Davison Building has more than 600,000 volumes and subscribes to 40,000 print and online journals. It’s open 24/7 nearly all year round, with study spaces in different zones for silent or collaborative work, and there are also several 24-hour PC labs dotted around campus. The Students’ Union also stages multiple fun and engaging events for students, and there are loads of places to eat and drink on campus.
