This specialist course is aimed at graduates who have an interest in developing an in depth specialist knowledge and a critical understanding of the key aspects of project management. A Master’s degree in project management is sought after by many organisations in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.
Students will develop a broad understanding of the most important concepts in project management, applying theoretical concepts and project management models to real life case studies.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This course is suitable for graduates in business, computing and engineering who are particularly interested in organising, running or participating in projects. It provides a postgraduate award with a strong focus on employability and is ideal for those looking to pursue, advance or switch to a career in project management within any industry.
COURSE CONTENT & STRUCTURE
Students will study for one year, which is divided into two semesters and the summer period for the dissertation. Students will study four modules, each worth 30 credits; and another module worth 60 credits, totalling 180 credits.
The course will cover the following three core modules:
- Programme Management (30)
- Product Management (30)
- Design Thinking (30)
- Research Methods and Professional Development Dissertation / Project (60)
In addition to the core modules, students will also be required to select one additional module from the following:
- Emerging Technologies (30)
- Blockchain (30)
- Fintech (30)
- Procurement and SCM (30)
IBM Enterprise Design Thinking
We have partnered with IBM to integrate their Enterprise Design Thinking course into our MSc Project Management. Enterprise Design Thinking is 'a framework that aligns multi-disciplinary teams and the real needs of their users. When teams apply these scalable methods, they’re able to move faster and deliver differentiated outcomes over and over again'.
As part of your study you will gain free access to the IBM Enterprise Design Thinking digital Practitioner course (2.5 hours) and on successful completion learners become badged Enterprise Design Thinkers.

HOW WILL YOU LEARN
ON CAMPUS STUDY
The programme is delivered in an interactive way with a real-world focus, preparing you for the dynamic business environment you will face after you graduate. Learning takes places both in and outside the classroom environment, traditional lectures and workshops are combined with a wealth of online resources to ensure that you get the most out of the programme. For each 30 credit module, there will be a three hour workshop.
