Real World Lecture: Can We Make Our Memories More Powerful? (Virtual Event)

What is memory? Does it matter if we forget? Can we strengthen our memory? Memory is being able to recognise people, places - it is essential for all our waking moments, but it is malleable, fallible and open to suggestion. In this lecture, the University of Law’s Dean of Social Sciences, Catriona Morrison, explains how our memories work, discusses the ‘Seven Sins of memory’, and explores creative ways to investigate and strengthen our memories, like through the power of music and smell. Real world lectures are aimed at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students interested in studying Psychology.
