Message from our Vice-Chancellor and CEO
On behalf of all our faculty, staff and students, I am delighted to welcome you to The University of Law.
Our mission here at The University of Law is to deliver excellent standards in teaching and support. For almost 150 years we have been dedicated to offering our students an outstanding learning experience as well as providing opportunities to connect with fellow students, alumni, firms and businesses.
As Vice-Chancellor and CEO of the University I am extremely proud of our rich heritage of placing students at the centre of everything that we do. We focus on applied learning, offering our students the chance to engage with the course and one another while studying. We want to ensure that our professionally experienced faculty are always bringing the latest in legal and business trends into the classroom.
It is through our connections and continued development of partnerships with our alumni, reputable firms and businesses that we strive to ensure that our courses remain relevant in the legal and wider business worlds as well as wider society. We constantly consult with professionals to keep our courses and their content up-to-date, as well as inviting visiting professors and alumni to bring their expertise and experience into our classes.
With campuses spread across the UK, as well as our international campus in Hong Kong and the GISMA Business School in Berlin, and like-for-like online versions of our courses, we can offer something that most other universities cannot – the option to receive the same education, training and dedicated support in a variety of locations to suit any and all.
No matter which course or method of study, we are committed to providing, developing and encouraging excellence for our students.
Becoming a student at The University of Law means more than simply receiving an education that leads to a qualification. You become a part of The University of Law family, with our passionate and experienced teams offering support in all aspects of your life.
We want to help you think and act like a professional from day one, developing the practical and transferable skills expected by employers today. But much more than this, with our small class sizes we ensure that you won’t become just a number. Instead, we offer a strong support culture designed to be there for you throughout your time with us and after you have moved on, throughout your career.
With over 70,000 students having passed through our doors, it is our alumni that are the best proof of the quality of our teaching and training. Many of our alumni have gone on to become global business leaders, eminent QCs and entrepreneurs, as well as members of parliament and social campaigners, demonstrating the strong employability skills with which our students graduate.
It is through our professional support services that we help you further prepare for the working world by being on hand to offer courses and career guidance, always mindful of the fact that your life isn’t only your studies. There are many other aspects outside of your course that have a significant effect on your life, and finding the balance in all these things will help you to achieve your ambitions.
It is this mix of support and excellent teaching that has meant we have maintained such great outcomes for our students. An incredible 92% of our full-time UK LLB students graduating in 2017 secured employment or further study within six months of successfully completing their course, while 97% of our full-time 2016/17 and accelerated 2017/17 LPC students graduating in summer 2017 secured employment, a training contract, or further study within nine months of successfully completing their course.
I would like to invite all of you who are interested in achieving your aspirations through degree level studies to explore The University of Law further, either online or through a visit to one of our campuses.
Very best wishes,
Professor Andrea Nollent
Vice-Chancellor and CEO
