What is your favourite memory from your time with us?

Presentation on advocacy skills felt very real. A great opportunity to practice the court skills and etiquette.

Share a piece of advice from a lecturer or classmate that has stayed with you?

Vice Chancellor's speech in 2016. From now on it is what you do with this qualification.

What has been the best development in your field since you qualified?

Court has to explore the steps taken by the crown to secure the attendance before deciding whether Res gestae is admissible. There is more justice for victims of domestic violence too.

And the worst....?

Lengthy waiting time for trials due to impact of Covid.

What advice would you give to someone starting the course you studied?

Any work experience counts. In particular administration. Law needs passion without it you will not survive the pressure. It may take long to secure your dream job but be persistent.

How did your course prepare you for your career?

I learnt how to research and work under pressure. In my current role thinking skills and problem solving are key as it is a fast paced environment where you have to make quick lawful decisions.

Tell us something people may be surprised to know about you...

I studied the LPC in my 40s, a single mum of 4 young children, working a full time job. I took the accelerated weekend only course and travelled from Brighton to London and back every Saturday and Sunday. Where there is a will there is a way.
