What is your favourite module to teach and why?
Access to Justice (haven't yet taught) I have strong interest in the social implications of law on society and the disproportionate effects of legal institutions on minoritized groups.
If you could bring in one new piece of legislation, what would it be and why?
A Neurodivergence Equality Act - I would introduce explicit legal protections for neurodivergent people, rather than relying solely on whether someone meets the Equality Act 2010 definition of disability. It would place a stronger proactive duty on workplaces and education providers to remove barriers, rather than prove they are struggling enough to receive support.
What advice would you give to students about to start studying law?
Prepare to change your mind. One of the biggest skills you'll learn as a law student is that changing your mind isn't a bad thing - it shows growth, ability to synthesise new information and decipher how this alters your views, empathy towards viewpoints not yet considered and much more.
What has been your favourite memory or proudest moment during your time with us so far?
Yet to happen - I am in my second week! Maybe securing the role of GTA after applying the year previous year, making it to final round interviews, but being unsuccessful. Then this year being successful and starting the role!
