What is your favourite memory from your time with us?

Studying International Criminal and Human Rights with Eric Jean Pierre. He was learned and very a great mentor.

What has been the best development in your field since you qualified?

One of the key developments since I qualified has been the increasing digitalisation of the UK immigration system. The shift towards online applications, electronic evidence submission, and the introduction of digital immigration status has improved accessibility and efficiency for both applicants and practitioners. It has reduced processing barriers, allowed for clearer case management, and enabled us as solicitors to support clients more effectively, particularly those applying from overseas.

And the worst....?

One of the more challenging developments in immigration law since I qualified has been the increasing complexity and frequency of changes to the Immigration Rules and policy guidance. The pace at which rules and requirements evolve has created uncertainty for both practitioners and applicants. It requires us - solicitors to be constantly vigilant in keeping up to date and ensuring that advice remains accurate.

What advice would you give to someone starting the course you studied?

Get practical experience as early as possible. You don’t need to wait until your final year - gaining experience early in the areas of law that interest you will help you develop a clearer direction about which field you want to qualify into.
