What is your favourite module to teach and why?

Business Law and Law of Organisations because they are such relateable courses. They teach the fundamentals of business law. It is a joy to see student faces light up as they relate the information they are learning to the business world they inhabit as employees, employers, customers and clients. I often tell my students this is one of the most useful courses they will ever study since they interact with businesses on a daily basis in one capacity or the other.

What advice would you give to students about to start studying law?

Be prepared to do a lot of reading and learn to enjoy reading the law! Focus on understanding the law and develop a healthy curiousity, an inquiring mind that asks questions. Think about why these laws exist, the problems they are intended to address and how effectively they achieve their aim. Studying law is really exciting because you are part of a live legal system that is constantly evolving.

What has been your favourite memory or proudest moment during your time with us so far?

My favourite memory was attending The University of Law as an LPC student in the year 2000/2001 when it was the College of Law, at the Bloomsbury campus and finding it exciting to be studying law in the heart of London, the legal centre of England, and being able to see the legal system in action such as visiting the RCJ on the Strand. I remember sitting in the Lecture Theatre as a student and could never have imagined that 25 years later, I would return and teach in that same theatre.
