Real World Lecture: What do Hackers know about you?

In this lecture we will explore social engineering, a key approach that is increasingly being used to secure private details and has led to some high-profile security incidents. Find out more about hackers, the case study of Kevin Mitnick, and identify techniques to develop good cyber hygiene. We will cover the different types of social engineering such as phishing, spearfishing, telephone scams and blackmail, and considering what hackers might know about you? (Probably more than you think!) and what they could do with the information. Head of Computer Science, Dr Paul Sant, cybersecurity expert will also give you some top tips on how to keep safe.
