Psychology Careers Series: Convert To Psychology

Are you interested in converting to Psychology? Are you studying a degree unrelated to Psychology but want to explore a career in this sector? Conversion courses enable you to pursue a new subject and create new progression opportunities. This event will include multiple sessions and give an overview of our MSc Psychology conversion course which has employability at the core, highlight reasons to convert to Psychology, and explain how developing skills through our Psychology course will open your career options. You will gain valuable insight of what it’s like to study our course through a 20-minute taster lecture delivered by our Psychology tutors from the Applications of Professional Psychology module. We will then be joined by a panel of Chartered Psychologists, including an Educational, Occupational and Clinical Neuropsychologist, who will discuss their career path and give advice on how to get into that career sector. The Chartered Psychologists include Dr Fiona Beddoes-Jones, who is a UK Chartered psychologist, people development specialist and change agent, Dr Sarah Gillanders who is a HCPC registered clinical psychologist who specialises in neuropsychology and is the Lead Neuropsychologist at the South East of Scotland Major Trauma Centre and a Director of Edinburgh Neuropsychology Ltd, Dr Simon Burnham, has been an educational psychologist for over 25 years and for 15 years he was a tutor on the professional training course for educational psychologists at Southampton University, and Dr Sheena Ashford, who is a qualified educational psychologist and a registered health psychologist. There will then be an opportunity to ask any questions you have in the Q&A session.
