What is your favourite memory from your time with us?

Coffee and chocolate muffins with friends after lectures.

Share a piece of advice from a lecturer or classmate that has stayed with you?

The law is 80% psychology and 20% legal theory! It turned out to be pretty accurate.

What has been the best development in your field since you qualified?

The launch of the Serious Injury Guide in 2015. Where it applies it generates a collaborative way of working that is to the benefit of claimants, defendants and insurers.

And the worst....?

The continual and not necessarily justifiable increase in the cost of litigation.

What advice would you give to someone starting the course you studied?

Be flexible as careers in the law will change considerably over your working life. See the skills you are taught at University as the foundation for your career but not the driver of your career. Seize the opportunities that each day brings as a chance to learn something new. Those experiences will be invaluable both in your career and personal life.

How did your course prepare you for your career?

It taught me how to think.

Tell us something people may be surprised to know about you…

My TV debut was singing with the school at the Pebble Mill "Song for Christmas" in 1984.
