In addition to any bank charges levied by your own bank you may incur a small commission charge levied by The University of Law Limited bank which is payable by you.

      (c) By Online Paperless Direct Debit

To make payment of your course fees by direct debit please click on the attached link, enter your ELITE login details and complete the Direct Debit mandate online using your UK bank account details.

Pay by online paperless direct debit

The University of Law will send you a confirmation letter via e-mail to your University e-mail address once you have set up your direct debit details and will send out an advance notice letter 10 days prior to payment being taken from your nominated bank account. Please note that the nominated bank account must be the student's personal account and excludes bank accounts in joint names.

      (d) By Credit Card face-to-face or over the telephone at your chosen centre

To pay your course fees by credit card please contact your study centre directly and make a payment in person or over the phone. You are encouraged to do this early and to avoid the week immediately before the course fee due date due to high call volumes at this time.

      Cards accepted:
      Mastercard and Visa

All credit card transactions are subject to a standard transaction charge of 1.7% to cover the merchant service charges imposed on the University by the banks.

      (e) By Cheque

Cheques should be made payable to ‘The University of Law Limited’ and sent to Student Services at your chosen centre to arrive on or before your course fee instalment date. Please refer to the terms and conditions for details of payment deadlines.

Please write your student reference number, full name and course on the reverse of the cheque.

If you pay by a cheque drawn on an overseas bank there may be a delay before the bank can process your cheque and you will be liable for any bank charge.

How do I get a receipt or statement?

      Receipts
When your payment has been allocated on our system, you will be sent an e-mailed acknowledgement to your University e-mail account. This will include the value of your payment.

      Statements
Statements will be e-mailed regularly to your University e-mail account.

      What if I'm being sponsored?

If you are being sponsored for your course, please provide the details below using our online contact form. This will need to be received by 30 June 2014. The e-mail must include the following information:

      • your name
      • your Student Reference Number
      • your course
      • your centre
      • your sponsor's name
      • your sponsor's correspondence address
      • your sponsor's e-mail address
      • the amount being sponsored for the course fee and SRA registration fee (LPC only) or BSB registration fee (BPTC only)

If you receive sponsorship after 30 June 2014 then please ask your sponsor to send details as above as soon as they can.

This confirmation is required for each year of part-time courses.

If your sponsor does not e-mail details of your sponsorship, you will be required to pay your own course fees on or before your course fee instalment dates (please refer to the terms and conditions for details of the payment deadline), and you will be sent a fee request e-mail.

If you obtain sponsorship after you have paid the University then please seek reimbursement directly from your sponsor.

If you are still awaiting confirmation of a training contract when payments are due then please ensure you are familiar with the cancellation dates in the finance terms and conditions of your offer.

Invoices to sponsors are payable in line with the invoice due date which is likely to be different to that of the course fee payment due dates set out in the terms and conditions.

What if I have applied for a Professional and Career Development Loan?

As the loan provider will not release any funds until it has received confirmation that you have started on the course, you must provide proof of loan approval or a confirmation letter to Student Services at your centre on or before the course fee payment deadline.

Please make sure you apply for a Professional and Career Development Loan in time to meet the payment deadline.

Please refer to the terms and conditions for fee payment deadlines.

      When should I arrange funding?

It is strongly recommended that you make funding arrangements in good time. Please ensure you are familiar with the cancellation dates (including deferral requests) in the terms and conditions of your offer.

What if I might miss the payment deadline?

Please contact your bank as soon as possible to discuss and agree the areas of funding available to you. Your bank will be best placed to advise you on funding options, including those you may need for short-term cash flow purposes.

As per the terms and conditions of your offer, payment to the University is via a maximum of two instalments. If you wish to fund your course place by more than two instalments for each year/part of your course then please see our advice on funding your studies.

What if I have missed the payment deadline?

If you miss the payment deadline, you risk being de-registered from the course and legal action being taken to collect fees. Examination results and assessment results will not be issued. GDL students who have not paid their fees will also lose their guarantee of a place on the next LLM LPC.

What if I cancel my place or wish to defer a reserved place?

Please refer to the University's terms and conditions for our cancellation policy.

Refund Policy for Online Debit Card payments

If an online debit card payment is made in error and you require a refund please quote your payment reference number (which is shown on your receipt) and contact the finance department by sending an e-mail to ARFinance@law.ac.uk

Please note any debit card refunds can only be made to the original card that the payment came from. Refunds will be made within seven working days of your request.

What if I have a different course fee query?

If your query is not answered here, please get in touch with the finance contact at your chosen centre (see below).

Please note that we have automatic processes in place to acknowledge both payment and any overdue balances, so there is no need for you to worry about contacting us to check if your payment has been received.

Further information on paying your LLM course fees

      Can I pay in instalments?

No. All course fees must be paid in full and cleared in our bank before we can book you onto any modules. Please also be aware that LLM fees are non-refundable.

Can I pay for three modules to take advantage of the discount, but choose some of them at a later date?

Yes. It is possible to pay for three modules and specify your second and/or third modules at a later date. In order to do this, you should select and pay for a three module option on the booking form, but only specify the module(s) you already know you wish to study. You will need to contact us separately when you have made a decision on the remaining module(s).

If I withdraw from the course, will I be entitled to a refund?

No. All of our course fees are non-refundable.

If I defer starting my module and the course content changes, will I need to pay for new course materials?

No. If you defer with our approval, you will have automatic access to the current version of the course materials and textbook for no extra charge when you re-join the course. Access will be via ELITE, our interactive learning support system. You will not need to be provided with any additional hard copy materials.

What if I need advice on funding my LLM studies?

Financial support may be available from external bodies. Here is further information on funding your studies.

If I enrol on an individual module now, do I get all future modules and my practice-focused dissertation at today's fees?

No. Fees stated on the website are valid only until 31 July each year. Therefore, unless you enrol and pay for your entire LLM now (180 credits), you will need to check the website for the latest fees information when you enrol onto future modules and/or your practice-focused dissertation.

For further information on when payments will be made, please visit LLM fees and instalment schedule.
