About Manchester
Our Manchester campus, which hosts both our legal and business courses, is located in the heart of the city, close to leading law firms and Manchester Piccadilly Train Station. The Metrolink, which connects the whole of Manchester and surrounding areas, is just a 2 minute walk from campus. The city has a thriving nightlife with plenty of bars, theatre and live music venues to choose from. Perfect for student life, Manchester is rich in art, fashion and heritage, and is as proud of its music scene as it is of its football teams. It has a thriving and diverse economy including business, legal and professional services.
Our campus has an amazing view of Piccadilly Gardens and is close to the main shopping area in Manchester with many shops offering student discounts. The campus’ workshop rooms are where you will spend most of your time whilst studying with us. Large groups and workshops are hosted here to enable you to learn collaboratively with your fellow students, making studying with us both effective and engaging. Our library resources are extensive and library courses are offered to those who need help navigating legal and business databases when studying.
You will have many opportunities to get involved in activities and events beyond your studies at our Manchester campus and will even have the option to start a society yourself. There is also a café on-site with a games area – a great place to unwind with friends.
Our employability service has career consultants that can give you advice on CVs and application forms, and help you prepare for interviews by conducting mock interviews. Our dedicated team will support you in finding work experience and pro bono opportunities that will boost your CV.
We reserve a limited number of rooms each year for first-year undergraduate, foundation year, and international students through our nominated service providers at our main campus locations. These are purpose-built student accommodation, fully equipped with modern facilities, and offer a safe and secure living environment. FAQs About Manchester Campus
What are the car parking options?
The best way to travel to our Manchester campus is by public transport. Due to our city centre location and limited space, on-site parking is not available for students. There are a number of public car parks located nearby. For information on parking options and charges, please visit the Manchester City Council website.
How easy is to get to campus by public transport?
Our Manchester campus is ideally situated in the heart of the city, with excellent public transport links making it easy to travel to and from the campus. The campus is adjacent to Piccadilly Gardens bus station serving bus routes across the region and there are four main train stations in Manchester city centre – Piccadilly, Deansgate, Oxford Road and Victoria - all within a short walk of the campus. The Greater Manchester Metrolink Trams also operate across the region and the closest stop is just across the road at Piccadilly Gardens. Is the Manchester campus accessible?
Our Manchester campus is split between the main campus site and City Tower. The sites are within close proximity of one another and are near public transport links. Both buildings are accessible for disabled students and have:
- Step-free access
- Lifts
- Evacuation chairs available
- A fire lift for use by the fire service in case of an emergency.
Teaching takes place at both the main site and City Tower. There is no teaching on the ground floor of either building. Parking is available at both sites, but a blue badge is required and it must be arranged with the University in advance. Is there support for disabled students?
Yes, disabled students requiring support can book an appointment with our Disability and Inclusion Service (DIS) which can take place either in-person or remotely. We have private meeting spaces available for appointments with students. Our DIS is situated on the fourth floor of the main site, in a Student Support and Wellbeing office. Students are welcome to drop in with quick queries or book an appointment for more in-depth support and advice. You can find out more about the support available here.
Is accommodation within walking distance?
Unfortunately, we don’t provide accommodation for our students. However, we have partnered with Studentpad, a student accommodation search engine that can help you find somewhere suitable to live while you study with us. We also reserve a number of rooms with some of the UK's leading student accommodation providers. This means the proximity of the campus will depend on the location of the accommodation you do choose. What do current students enjoy most about here?
Our students at our Manchester campus are spoilt for choice when it comes to attractions and activities. Many enjoy shopping at the Trafford Centre or Bury market, skiing or snowboarding at the Snow Centre, strolling around Fletcher Moss Park or visiting the Sea Life Aquarium. Student favourites also include grabbing a coffee at Chapter One, enjoying lunch at GRUB and socialising with friends at the Manahatta cocktail bar.

We run a number of Open Days throughout the year, both at our Manchester campus and virtually. During our Open Days, you'll be able to explore our facilities and hear first-hand from our current students, academic staff and support teams to learn more about studying at The University of Law in Manchester and to discover how we can support your ambition.
