    The Innovation in Law programme is a unique collaboration between The Sunday Times, The University of Law and a range of leading firms to find a new generation of lawyers. If you are an ambitious future lawyer who can bring a range of talents and skills to the legal services sector and help it deliver innovative solutions to its clients, this scheme is for you!

    The programme is a major addition to the support available to the next generation of lawyers.

    If you’re considering starting a law degree in 2014, and think you have the skills to deliver innovative solutions to the legal services market, as well as the ability to think creatively for its clients, then this scheme is for you!

    Send us an interesting and innovative entry answering the following question:

    ‘If you could introduce a new piece of UK legislation, what would it be and why?’

    You can supply your entry in almost any format – an essay, a video or another form of digital presentation.
    Tip - the word count is around 1000 words for written entries and there’s an advised run time for videos etc of 5 minutes – please do not exceed these limits!

    In order to be eligible to enter, you must be resident in the UK or ROI and have chosen to study an undergraduate law degree in 2014 at The University of Law and have selected us as your firm choice. 
    Shortlisted entrants will be called to an assessment day prior to selection.

    All entries will be judged by a panel comprising The University of Law, The Sunday Times, law firms and external legal professionals. All entries will be judged on some of the skills required to be a modern lawyer, including:

    • Creative thinking and innovation
    • Communication skills
    • Analytical thinking
    • A passion for the law
    • Originality and presentation
