Our tutors all have a passion for the law, which is why many practise as well as teach. The insight they provide into the daily working of the legal system is invaluable and grounded in experience, which means you benefit from an up-to-date and realistic picture of modern legal practice.

Here are brief profiles of just a few of our postgraduate tutors:

Judi Peachey, BPTC Course Leader

I am one of the Academic Managers in Birmingham responsible for staffing and management of the Birmingham centre. I teach Crime, Advocacy, Ethics and Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence. I was the LLB course leader when we set up the new course, teaching Crime and Legal Essentials. I have also taught Land Law on the GDL and Property law, Housing and Personal Injury on the LPC and was previously the BPTC course leader.

John Holtam, Associate Professor

I teach on a wide range of ULaw courses in Bristol = LPC, GDL, LLB and PSC.

Sarah Grey, Associate Professor

I am an Associate Professor and personal tutor and have just been promoted to Associate Professor. I teach many subjects on all courses; LLB, GDL, LPC and PSC. I am the co-coordinator of student sports and social events at Guildford.

Gemma Shield, Associate Professor

I qualified as a solicitor working in a commercial law practice in Leeds. Over the years I have enjoyed teaching a range of skills, core and elective subjects on the LPC and LLM together with Contract Law on the GDL, PSC and the LLB. I lead the Centre’s PSC course and am team leader for Business Finance and the Public Companies and Equity Finance Elective on the LPC and Contract Law on the GDL and LLB.

Daniel Cowan, Lecturer

I’m a lecturer on the LPC and GDL courses at the Moorgate campus.

All of the BPTC tutors have connections to the local bar and as such this brings an edge to the course
