Cheekylittlecareers X ULaw Fireside Chat with Steve Ward from Squire Patton Boggs (Virtual Event)

Back by popular demand, Cheekylittlecareers and The University of Law are delighted to be hosting a live exclusive Fireside Chat with Steven Ward, Partner at Squire Patton Boggs. Host Husnara Begum, Associate Editor at Cheekylittlecareers and Ex-Linklaters corporate lawyer, will host the chat. She’ll be asking questions ranging from Steven's career path to partnership, what working in corporate law is like and life at SQP. Steven Ward is a partner in the financial services practice and leads the investment funds team in Europe. Steven advises on the formation, regulation, and ongoing activities of funds of all asset classes, including private equity, real estate, venture capital, private credit, and hedge. Steven advises fund managers, fund investors, placement agents, fund service providers, banks, and other market participants. Steven has a strong regulatory background, notably in relation to the alternative investment fund managers directive, and frequently provides press commentary and advice to trade bodies in relation to such legislation. Steven also advises on co-investments, carry schemes and fund manager structuring. Steven works closely with our corporate, finance, pensions, real estate, and regulatory teams. Steven has been noted for his expertise in fund formation matters for private equity funds in chambers and partners 2021, with clients noting "He is really responsive, puts good pace into a deal, and he is pragmatic,” and in the legal 500 2021 for real estate funds. Steven is an active member of the firm’s LGBT and social mobility groups.
