The MSc Leadership and Human Resource Management provides you with the expertise required to effectively manage personnel and lead across global HR systems. Our degree is aligned to Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) standards.
Delivered 100% online, this programme is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and awarded by The University of Law. Graduates will receive a Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Leadership and Management alongside their degree.

This is the ideal programme for anyone interested in roles in human resource management and organisational leadership.
COURSE CONTENT & Structure
This online course comprises of four modules, each worth 30 credits, followed by the research methods module and dissertation, which is worth 60 credits, totalling 180 credits.
If you decide on the 1 year full-time option, you will study two modules of eight weeks each per term. When you have finished your modules you will start to research and write up your dissertation. You will submit your dissertation 12 months after the commencement of your course.
When your choice is the 21-month, part-time option you will study one module at a time. There are four modules, each of an 8-week duration. Upon successful completion of your modules you will take time to research and write up your dissertation which you will submit 21 months after the starting date of your course.

- Leadership and Management Development (30 credits)
- Human Resource Management Practice in Context (30 credits)
- Coaching and Mentoring (30 credits)
- Leading Organisational Design and Development (30 credits)
- Research Methods, Professional Development and Dissertation / Project (60 credits)
Leadership and Management Development
This module will enable you to critically evaluate core theories, models and concepts of leadership. In addition you will learn the best practices and skills used in a professional environment, with a focus on how to become an effective human resource practitioner using practical leadership skills.
Human Resource Management Practice in Context
This module will enable you to evaluate the interaction between the business environment and the organisation within which HR professionals work. In addition, you will explore models of organisational design and environmental analysis. You will analyse HRM issues enabling you to make recommendations for HR policy and practise.
Coaching and Mentoring
You will design, apply and practise coaching methods, addressing them from an ethical and professional viewpoint. You will explore a range of psychological theories that will help you understand various coaching and mentoring strategies.
leading organisational design and development
You will learn how to evaluate the contribution of organisational design and development as well as how to assess and apply design options regarding structures and relationships. The role of HR in organisational design and development will be discussed with a strong focus on cultural awareness, the practical applications of organisational design and organisational development concepts.
Research Methods: Investigating a business issue from an HRM perspective
This module is divided into three distinct parts; research design, quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. Each section will provide you with an overview of the conventions of research in the social sciences and within a chosen specialist area. You will also study the role that quantitative and qualitative methods play in research.

Examination and assessments
Assessment for the online programmes are designed to meet the academic and professional learning outcomes for each module. Online students can expect to prepare for and receive feedback on seminars, workshops, tests and presentations, as well as assignments, projects, and exams. Online students are particularly required to partake in group work and group assessments with their peers, which will form part of their summative grade.

Upon enrolment, students will receive access to Canvas, our user-friendly e-learning platform which hosts all of your digital learning materials in one place. You will gain access to e-books, videos, downloadable PDF flashcards, and an online community hub of bespoke academic resources. Students are allocated a subject supervisor for each subject, who provides feedback on submitted work. Induction covers handbook and assessment/learning regimes. In addition, you will have access to our online library of facilities and learning resources form the Chartered Management Institute, the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and the Financial Times. These resources provide a range of professional and business based materials that represent live or the most up-to-date market trends, sector based articles, and analysis reports.
