To help students manage emotional or stressful periods in their life, ULaw offer a number of services. One of these is the social enterprise Togetherall. But what is Togetherall and how can it help you?

What is Togetherall?

Togetherall is the leading digital mental health service, providing online support to users from all walks of life. Their services are available 24/7 and you can speak to them in complete anonymity. They provide a safe, monitored online community where you can talk to people in a similar situation to your own, discover resources and self-help programmes, art therapy, and live talking therapy with registered and accredited counsellors and Cognitive Behavioural Therapists.

Wellbeing Service Manager for The University of Law, Aiden Moloney said ‘The University of Law is pleased to facilitate access to this support resource where students can find lots of information on mental health, including a peer support community and self-management courses. Being available 24/7 means people can find safe, confidential and reliable support at times when they need it.’

Why do people use Togetherall?

The reasons people turn to Togetherall are wide and varied but they can include anxiety, stress, feeling low, depression, feeling out of control and trauma. Triggers from these feelings often stem from personal relationships, work or study pressures, financial problems, sexuality, isolation or drug and alcohol problems.

People might choose a digital mental health service over a traditional one for anonymity, flexibility - as their services are available 24/7, ease of access – the service can be accessed while you’re on the move through your iPhone, iPad or Android device, at work or whenever you feel the need to talk to someone. Even if you’re new to the service you can sign up and get help in less than five minutes.

Who are the people behind Togetherall?

Togetherall was founded in 2007 by social entrepreneur, Jen Hyatt. Since then, they have supported over 100,000 people living with anxiety and depression.

Fully qualified clinicians monitor Togetherall community forums 24/7 and only registered and accredited therapists and counsellors provide support and 1-to-1 therapy. Togetherall are also the only online mental health service provider registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Can I speak to someone face-to-face?

Although Togetherall doesn’t supply physical locations, you can still carry out therapy sessions face-to-face online. Sessions can take place via text, audio or secure video, whichever you feel most comfortable with.

Who does Togetherall support?

Togetherall has had six million people in the UK referred to them by their healthcare provider and they’re available to almost 500,000 UK students through their universities and colleges. They work with the Armed Forces, the NHS and millions of employees across the public and private sectors.

How do I sign up to Togetherall?

All ULaw students and staff can sign up for free through Togetherall website with their ULaw email address. You will be asked for a few details, including a name so you can be referred to anonymously. There will be a confirmation email sent to your inbox, click on this to confirm your account and you’ll be taken on a quick guided tour of the website. From there, you’ll have access to a wealth of information and support.

What if I am in an emergency?

Togetherall is not an emergency service. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger please call the emergency services on 999 or visit your nearest A&E department.
