• The University of Law appoints Vice Provost

    We are pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Becky Huxley-Binns to the position of Vice Provost.

    With nearly 20 years’ experience in legal education Becky will be responsible for driving academic development at ULaw. She joins from Nottingham Law School, Nottingham Trent University where she was Professor of Legal Education. She is Chair of the Association of Law Teachers and won the accolade of Law Teacher of the Year in 2010 and a National Teaching Fellowship in 2012. 

    Becky joined Nottingham Law School in 2002 as a Senior Lecturer of Law, rising to Reader in Legal Education in 2010 and becoming Professor in 2013. Her research expertise is in criminal law, evidence and legal education.

    Commenting on her appointment, ULaw Provost Professor Andrea Nollent said: “Becky brings a wealth of experience and a first-class reputation in legal education and teaching innovation. She will be a valuable addition to our team.  Her knowledge as well as a dedication and commitment to her students makes her well suited to ULaw, an institution that puts professional training and a first-class student experience at the heart of everything we offer.”

The modern day lawyer requires a diverse set of legal and commercial skills and ULaw is leading the way in providing that broad yet specialist training.”

    Becky will take up her post at ULaw with effect from 1 March 2015  ULaw is also seeking to appoint two further Vice Provost roles to lead key areas of strategic enhancement of the staff and student experience.
