This disclaimer is relevant for any legal recruiters looking to advertise any vacancies on the JobSearch section of the Future Lawyers Network and any users accessing the JobSeach database to look for vacancies.
Gaining experience in a legal environment can prove highly beneficial to those seeking to enter the legal sector. However, both recruiters and candidates should be aware that, depending on the nature of the role, work experience placements may be covered by minimum wage legislation.
As remuneration, employment terms and duties are matters for the recruiter and applicant, the Employability Service will continue to advertise work experience. However, in response to student concerns, a decision has been taken not to advertise unpaid positions lasting longer than 28 days, except in exceptional circumstances.
Those using the service to look for work are encouraged to read our
student recruitment guidance.
