The University of Law (ULaw) has been chosen as the sole provider of legal training for international law firm Fieldfisher for the next three years.
Following a competitive tender, ULaw was awarded the exclusive training contract for its commitment to providing first-class legal education through innovative GDL and LPC programmes, which combine the practical skills and academic knowledge needed to succeed in today’s dynamic and global legal market.
Fieldfisher’s new trainees will benefit from ULaw’s innovative approach to learning that combines academic rigour with practical legal skills, with the support of tutors who are all qualified lawyers and have extensive practice experience. From the outset of training this encourages trainees to think and act like professionals, helping them develop exceptional working client relationships, an essential trait which Fieldfisher has at its core. Trainees will begin studying for the GDL and LPC with ULaw in August 2016 at the University’s London Moorgate centre.
Fieldfisher is an international law firm with more than 400 lawyers based across nine locations around the UK,Europe and Silicon Valley. Edward Miller, Fieldfisher's training principal, said: "Following a thorough tender process we chose The University of Law because of the way it integrates the GDL and LPC students into one building. This was an important factor for us as it will help our future trainees to create new networks and relationships, which is of course key for all new lawyers starting their careers."

Our GDL and LPC qualifications have been designed to teach the law in a professional and realistic context, looking at how the law affects people and businesses, and how lawyers think about and use the law to represent their clients’ interests. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Fieldfisher and welcome the firm’s talented trainees to ULaw.”
