National commercial law firm Beachcroft LLP announced today that the firm has signed up The College of Law (CoL) to become the sole provider of the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Legal Practice Course (LPC) for their future trainee solicitors.
Phil Cousins, Beachcroft HR Director said: "We have worked with UWE, BPP, and a number of other providers for many years, and enjoyed a mutually supportive relationship with all of them. However, working with a sole provider for the GDL and LPC is the right decision for Beachcroft at this time.
"Our previous students at CoL have told us how impressed they have been with the quality of teaching and course structures, but this move is not just about that. This move will give us more UK coverage with a greater consistency of training in all locations and an increased ability to control and contribute to the content of the training provided on the LPC. We were particularly impressed by the College's innovative online learning systems and their flexible approach."
Nigel Savage, Chief Executive of The College of Law commented: "The College of Law has a reputation for high quality, practical training. With centres in Birmingham, Chester, Guildford, London, Manchester, York and our new centre opening in Bristol in September 2010, we are a natural fit for a national and progressive firm like Beachcroft. The firm will be able to maximise our networks to their full advantage - to support recruitment activity, for example – while being assured of common quality standards across all our centres and benefiting from a more tailored LPC."
