• College of Law in Guildford Runs Taster Event for Aspiring Lawyers

    10 July 2009

The College of Law in Guildford is holding a free taster event designed to give anyone interested in a legal career an insight into the skills they need.

Would-be lawyers can find out how to prepare for a career in law and about the different areas of law in which to practice at the event on Wednesday, July 29.

The taster session runs from 1.30pm – 4.30pm and is aimed at recent law and non – law graduates as well as people considering a career change.

Sheila Bramley, director of the Guildford centre, said: "Law remains a popular career choice among recent graduates and people changing careers. With the downturn in the economy it is even more important to make the right choices. The taster session has been designed to give attendees a flavour of how to become a lawyer and what skills are required."

Courses on offer at the College on Portsmouth Road include the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), which gives non-law graduates an entry route into the profession, and the Legal Practice Course (LPC), the next step towards a career as a solicitor.
